3rd Party Developers / Sales

There are two demo environments that are used by 3rd party developers and also shared with the Sales team (which does customer demos via these two demo environments):

Garden

Garden is the primary demo FI (financial institution) that is used by 3rd party devs. The overwhelming majority of the time we create test users and API credentials for 3rd party devs, it’s for this environment. The Sales team uses Garden quite a bit in their demos to prospective customers.

Garden is a fake FI that demonstrates a traditional branch-based bank, connected to a SilverLake core.

Creating Users for Garden

You can create users with the New User Creation Tool.

Make sure to use the Garden-specific flag.

What if Garden is having issues or is down?

See Tools / Help for Garden demo institution.

Bloom

Bloom is rarely used by 3rd party devs, and intentionally so since we don’t have quite as few things connected up to it, process-wise. Sales apparently sometimes uses Bloom for its demos to prospective customers, but it sounds like that doesn’t happen on a frequent basis.

Bloom is a fake FI that demonstrates a digital-only bank, connected to a SilverLake core.

Make sure to use the Garden-specific flag. See section below for the reason why this works.

Fun Fact: Garden and Bloom share the same SilverLake banking Core

The Reason ‘Why’

Garden and Bloom share the same instance of the core to illustrate how a traditional branch-based bank can expand its market by adding a digital-only brand. It’s effectively 1 FI with 2 brands.

Garden demonstrates how Banno is useful to FIs who have a customer base that expects an in-person experience.

Bloom demonstrates how Banno is useful to FIs who have a customer base that expects a self-service experience.

The Implications

If you have a valid User (username + password) for either one, then that same User (username + password) will work for the other.

However, the 2FA setups do not carry over and need to be set up separately.

Also, External Applications and Plugins do not carry over and need to be set up separately.

Internal Development

We have multiple internal development FIs set up, but it seems as though things are mostly consolidating on a single dev environment.

For shorthand, this environment can be thought of as Banno-only (or maybe better to say Jack Henry-only) since that’s mostly true, but there are times when Jack Henry gives access to the environment to outside integration partners (i.e. 3rd party developers). However, it’s not meant for general 3rd party usage.

Dev Bank

You can create users with the New User Creation Tool.

Make sure to use the Dev Bank-specific flag.

If you want to use some shared, ready-made users then look at Test Credentials.
