As a New Hire there are a lot of things you and your team lead will need to go through to ensure you’re successful. This checklist will hopefully help. While team leads are responsible for making sure this gets done, it is encouraged that anyone who finds items that should be added open a pull request or git issue to continue to improve our process.
Log In To Accounts (New Hire)
The steps here should all be completed before your 1st Day if at all possible. All of this can be done from any computer in a web browser; we’ll go through getting logged into your Digital laptop during the IT Onboarding. Please email groundcontrol@banno.com or ping #org-ground-control in Slack if anything is being uncooperative.
- Log in to Digital Google account (@jackhenry.com)
- Username is in the Welcome to Digital message sent to your personal email
- Password is in the Your Digital Google account message sent to your personal email
- Set up Okta multi-factor authentication
- Activate by logging in at jackhenry.okta.com
- Download apps from appropriate app store. More info here
- When prompted for Okta OTP, enter the 6-digit token generated by the app
- Change password for @jhacorp.com account
- Username and temporary password should have been forwarded to your @jackhenry.com email by your manager
First Day (New Hire @ IT Onboarding)
- Go through New Mac process
- Go over how to get help
First Day (New Hire + Team Lead)
- Identity Verification and I-9 Paperwork
- Show how to log in to VPN, VDI (if applicable)
- Join required rooms in Slack
- Log in to GitHub and set up
- Invitation sent to New Hire’s @jackhenry.com email
- Requirements: Full name associated with account, must have real picture for avatar, must use two-factor auth
- If these requirements are objectionable, they can create a new account - these are not flexible due to the nature of our domain.
- Introduce Day One onboarding page to familiarize new hire with BannoDocs.
- Work through our communication structure (email, Slack, Teams, video)
- Brief intro to product line and why we’re building what we’re building.
- Meet with Team Lead and those that will be training the new hire
- Show relevant items in Drive (Should already have access from Digital email)
