Special Interest Groups

Banno special interest groups, sometimes abbreviated SIG, are groups of people interested in learning and teaching a particular subject. The idea of SIGs is new to Banno, and as we learn what makes them work in our organization we’ll update this page.

Banno SIGs

  • Blockchain (#sig-blockchain): All things Blockchain(-based) from personal use with Bitcoin/Ethereum/etc. or business applications (DLT, etc.)
  • Cognitive Science (#sig-cogsci): Focused on tools and techniques to become a better learner.
  • Containers (#sig-containers): Docker, Kubernetes, OCI, CRI, cgroups
  • Functional Programming (#sig-fp): Discussion about anything related to functional programming or functional programming languages such as Scheme, Haskell, Eta, Agda, or Idris.
  • Kafka (#sig-kafka): Apache Kafka and its ecosystem
  • Microservices (#sig-microservices): Microservices architecture
  • Observability (#sig-observability): Logging, Monitoring, Tracing, & Visualization
  • Scala (#sig-scala): All things Scala
  • Scalaz (#sig-scalaz): Scalaz, including scalaz-stream, http4s, Doobie…!
